LIBERTY TOWNSHIP/GERMAN TOWNSHIP
WHEN ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SCHOOLS IN LIBERTY TOWNSHIP WERE BUILT, AND EVEN THROUGH THE FIRST 30-40 YEARS OF USAGE, THE TOWNSHIP'S NAME WAS GERMAN TOWNSHIP. THEN AS WORLD WAR ONE STARTED, THE COUNTY DECIDED TO CHANGE THE TOWNSHIP'S NAME TO LIBERTY.
